Bible Verse Printables 200

Our older kids {as well as the younger ones}, still like having printables to help them study their verses. The picture cues and hands-on help with puzzles have really helped them remember Scripture.

Each year when our kids participate with a local church program, we’ve used these Bible verse printables to help them in their learning. The printables typically include an 8 1/2” x 11” page, cut-apart verse strips and puzzle cards, and also 4” x 6” verse cards {a smaller version of the 8 1/2” x 11” poster page}.

We slip our 4” x 6” cards into a small photo book {usually $1 at Walmart}. The verse strips can be taped or glued together or you can put them in the correct order using a tabletop pocket chart.

Elementary Bible Verse Printables

Today, I am sharing the elementary Bible verse printables ~ so far there are over 70 verses uploaded!! I’m adding more verses as we work on them.  Here’s a little peek at what the full Bible verse printables look like along with the word puzzles and strips for kids to get a little more ‘hands-on’ practice.

Illustrating a Bible Verse

Another help that we use each week when memorizing a verse is illustrating the verse that we are learning. Our kids draw a picture in the top rectangle that represents the verse to them, then they write the verse out on the lines below. During the week when they recite the verse, we check off one of the boxes at the bottom of the page.

  2. Thanks for illustrating a bible verse printable. That’s a great idea that I know my kids will love!

  3. These are fabulous! Thanks for sharing your talents with us all :)

    Many blessings!

  4. This is awesome! Thank you so much for sharing! My daughter has been memorizing Ephesians 4:32 this week at school and I typed out the verse and cut it up for her to use while memorizing it! I will definitely be checking out your page of verses each time she gets a new verse to see if you have it! Again thank you SO much for sharing these!

  5. I love this idea!! Thanks so much! I am having trouble with some of them not showing up the typed words. I am on a Mac, any suggestions to help with this?? Thanks!

    • You may want to try opening the files in Adobe Reader instead of Mac viewer {I’m assuming that’s what you are using on you Mac as your default}. :)

  6. What Bible translation do you use to create these?

  7. What age can a typical child begin memorizing scripture regularly? What sort of expectations are good for different ages, like how long would it take a four-year old to commit to memory a verse?

    • Our 3 and 4 year olds have been able to learn verses {there is a preschool section of verses as well}. We typically review the verses several times during the day and will work on one verse a week. :)

  8. I haven’t checked all of the verses against my Bible yet, but I found an error in one of the ones I did check. The verse that is stated as being Matthew 19:10 is actually found in Luke 19:10 or Matthew 18:11. Matthew 19:10 is completely different. I know it was an innocent mistake, but it is also a good reminder for those of us out here who are thinking of using your printables (or anyone else’s for that matter), to do our due diligence and make sure God’s word is presented correctly. Thank you for your printables. I knew you’d want to know that one of them was incorrect.

    • Updating it now – it was obviously an innocent mistake. I worked on all 70 verses on Saturday and had my laptop, ipad and Bible trying to cross-check everything before I shared it.

    • Oh, Jolanthe I know it was a mistake and I hope I didn’t offend you! In fact, I thought it was a nice teachable moment for all of us to always be ready to check the Bible for ourselves. I am very appreciative of you taking the time to put these together. I feel horrible if I hurt your feelings.

  9. You are amazing!! We are working through your ABC one currently. But I am going to add the illustration activity to them! The ABC verses have been great for us. Sammy has NEVER memorized any verses until you gave me the suggestion to stick with the same verse until he got it. Now it seems to come easier for him! We are starting week 5 of school and almost have verse D memorized! Thank you for all of the hard work you put into your resources! (((HUGS)))

  10. Thanks for all your hard work! I love the illustration sheet.

  11. Do you have anywhere where you have the word puzzle cards that are blank, so we can write in our own words?

    • I’ll have to make some up and share!! In the meantime, if there is a certain verse you are looking for, let me know and I can try to put it together. :)

  12. Cassie Morrow says

Happened upon your blog as I’m looking up things on homeschooling (considering moving to homeschooling after Christmas break). I am loving the Bible verse printables as my children are in the same program (have you used their verses put to music? Love it too!) Now that my oldest is reading strongly I love the idea of cutting out the pieces and having her put them together. How do you store all of the pieces for the individual verses? I have a few ideas in my head but wanted to know what you did that worked! =)

    • Target has some great snap closure plastic file folders {they are in the office supply section. If you paperclip the verse strips together and then store them by book in one of to pocket folders, it works great. :) Or a big ol’ baggie! :)
