How was your week? Hopefully you all fared well during the storms in the midwest this past week. There was at least one homeschooling family in Arkansas that lost their father and two of their daughters during the storms. If you like to help out, please click here.

Lunch Sack Kite

Take advantage of all the spring breezes and create a lunch sack kite. Lovely Commotion shared a simple tutorial on her site with us.

Spring Book

When you are outside celebrating the warm weather, make a fun spring book together with your kids to remember the fun you have together. Visit One Time Through to see the photos and illustrations her family created. They can be memories you keep for years to come.

The above picture of the worm just fascinates me! And I’m pretty sure that Kindred Spirit Mommy enjoyed the lack of an actual dissection as well!

What do ants like to eat? A science activity for kids to learn about ants #science #ants #handsonlearning || Gift of Curiosity

Itty bitty ants are showing up in our house again (grrr…), so at the moment I may just want to squish them. This science experiment from Gift of Curiosity may have you attracting a few, but it’s all in the name of science!

Popsicle Stick Cats, Raisin Box Puzzles, and Bunny Bookmarks – Preschool and Kindergarten Community

Homeschool Preschool: Preschool and Kindergarten Community linkup at Homeschool Creations

popsicle stick cats

Sorting Sprinkles made some SUPER cute popsicle stick kitties during their pet unit. The sensory box to go along with the pet unit – adorable!

Spielgaben lacing and colors

One of the other things that we are VERY much enjoying are our Spielgaben learning toys. While we are using them at home daily, I brought a few trays along to use with the co-op kids, and they were a HUGE hit. The little girls in our class were lining up colors, lacing away, and making color and shape patterns with the pieces in the set. (And I can’t wait to share more about Spielgaben with you soon!)

If you have empty raisin boxes that you can save, you definitely need to check out the recycled raisin box puzzle from TotSchooling – such a fun idea to work on early puzzles for younger children. Love that they are chunky pieces!

bunny bookmarks

These little bunny bookmarks that Joyfully Weary shared are absolutely adorable! They would be a cute craft to make this upcoming week!

Rainbow marshmallow painting

Our final preschool class of the co-op year was last Friday and we had SO much fun learning about colors and rainbows. There are a gazillion ideas on my Pinterest boards, so we definitely weren’t at a lack for things to do! We had so much fun mixing colors and creating new colors together – and then using mini marshmallows to paint rainbows (thanks to Learn Play Imagine for the inspiration!).
