During grammar time today, McKenna was working on her independent work and I stopped over to see how she was doing. It’s ALWAYS important to make sure that you are copying things exactly as you see them {ahem}. It can change entirely the way a sentence reads.
One letter {added or missing} can make all the difference in the meaning of a sentence.

When my hubby and I were teachers on the Navajo reservation in NM, Matt had several students copy the definition for “vigilante” (when the word was supposed to be “vigilant”) on their homework. That extra e also made a big difference. :)

I had her read it out loud to me and when she did, her eyes got SO BIG and she realized what she’d done. Gotta love it!

I’ve had to set up a ‘go-over’ time each day with the older two so that I can make sure there aren’t mistakes like that – and another one right above it! :)
