During grammar time today, McKenna was working on her independent work and I stopped over to see how she was doing. It’s ALWAYS important to make sure that you are copying things exactly as you see them {ahem}. It can change entirely the way a sentence reads.

Letter P Mishap

One letter {added or missing} can make all the difference in the meaning of a sentence.

    When my hubby and I were teachers on the Navajo reservation in NM, Matt had several students copy the definition for “vigilante” (when the word was supposed to be “vigilant”) on their homework. That extra e also made a big difference. :)

  12. Thanks for sharing that. Too funny (and a good reminder as to why we need to proofread…something I am horrible at)! This just gave me a good laugh that I needed today.

    • I’ve had to set up a ‘go-over’ time each day with the older two so that I can make sure there aren’t mistakes like that – and another one right above it! :)
