Our Homeschool Happenings (via vlog)

Above you’ll find a little update on what we’ve been up to in both our homeschool and home. Truthfully, a vlog was the easiest thing for me to do today (and besides, it makes me feel like I’m sitting down and actually chatting with you all). Feed readers can click here to see the video

The quick sum-up:

  • All is well in the homeschool realm and I’ll be sharing a few tweaks/add-ins to our curriculum soon.
  • I’m VERY MUCH looking forward to this book by Sally Clarkson.
  • Starting any type of home project is a downward spiral into finding a billion other projects, like a chain reaction. Doing said projects around the holidays is d.u.m.b. But for some reason, we’re doing one, or five.
  • We’ve been dealing with some health issues with one of the kids. Watching your kids hurting is hard. Very hard.
  • Taking a long break in December is essential for my sanity. Not sure where my brain was in planning at the start of the year.
  • My idea of quick is apparently keeping it under 12 minutes. There are no prizes for watching through to the end, other than – well, nothing. :)

Hope you all are having a great day, and I look forward to hearing how you are doing as well. I’d love for you to leave a comment and chime in with how things are going for your family.

  1. (((HUGS)) and Prayers! It is so hard to watch our children suffer! I have been and will continue to be praying for Laurianna!

    Yay Kaleb!! Way to go!

I am definitely going to be ordering that book! Life has been a little crazy for us.. but nothing I should be typing out in a comment right now ;-)

I miss seeing you all the time!! Getting to catch up via this video was not quite as awesome as sitting down w/ a cup of coffee or pool side! However, was better than just words on a screen!

  2. Nicole Jones says

Jolanthe, I don’t often comment on blogs but I wanted to say thank you for letting us take a peak at your life and giving us a chance to “meet” you through the vlog. Blogs and other forms of social media are so weird – feeling like you know someone so well and are friends – even though you’ve never met in real life. Always strikes me as so bizarre!

I appreciate your honesty in regards to your children. It’s often easy to think that bloggers have it all together – perfect house, perfect curriculum, perfect children, etc. I’m always grateful for your willingness to open up and share that real life is often difficult and messy and hard. So thankful for God’s grace shining through the tough times. Hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas break and a time of real refreshment and renewal – most especially for Laurianna. Blessings, Nikki

  3. I love your heart! You are a blessing to all the homeschool moms out there! Keep up the great work!
