Enjoying Sweet Faces ~ Moments to Remember

Photobucket

Moments to Remember was developed as a simple way to look back on our week as homeschoolers and find photos that encompass the memories we want to remember.

The week may have been tough, there may have been more bumps than smiles, but in the end these are the moments that keep us going, the ones we need to remember.

This past week was spent relaxing, cuddling on the porch swing, unpacking and planting a garden.

And enjoying some sweet little faces. Like this one…

Porch Swing-1

All in all, it’s been a week that my heart needed and I have been so happy to have.

What moments do you have to remember this past week?

Last week a friend of mine {from the time I was five years old}, was driving through our area on her way home and stopped in for the night to visit. Although she was here for just a brief time, she brought along a children’s book that she recently wrote called Drip! and sat down to read it to our kids.

Drip by Jan Butler

Best part for them was that it was a bedtime story, so we didn’t even have to leave our house to hear it. Now that’s what I call a fabulous private book reading!

The kids have been reading the book and showing it to their friends all week, loving that they KNOW the person who wrote it and also that it is a true story {and very funny when you hear her read it}.  It’s also been fun watching Laurianna get more excited about writing and publishing her own book someday ~ and that is wonderful too!

Moments to Remember-1

As part of our ‘home ec’ time this week, the girls prepared breakfast for us ~ some peanut butter oatmeal squares. Watching them work together happily ~ most priceless. The fact that we can do ‘school’ in our pajamas ~ even better!

Spur of the Moment Learning ~ Moments to Remember

Moments to Remember 4-14-1

On Wednesday the kids all jumped in bed with me {umm…notice I was squeezed out of the picture}. I had been checking out some videos on PBS and next thing you know, McKenna found a dolphin documentary. That girl is fascinated with all things dolphin, so I said ‘yes’ and all the kids cuddled up to watch it together. I know they don’t look super thrilled here, but we all learned so much and it gave us some fun things to talk about during the day.

Completely off-schedule and topic for the day, but something that I am so thankful we can do if we choose!

Party Time! ~ Moments to Remember

Photobucket

Moments to Remember was developed as a simple way to look back on our week as homeschoolers and find photos that encompass the memories we want to remember.

The week may have been tough, there may have been more bumps than smiles, but in the end these are the moments that keep us going, the ones we need to remember.

What's in the Bible-1

This week we had a little party with friends. Although when homeschoolers are involved, it can quickly seem larger than normal. We had 3 other families over to watch What’s in the Bible 7 with us. The kids enjoyed an afternoon of fun together ~ coloring, watching, learning and just hanging out together.

I love that we have the flexibility to get together with other families when it is convenient for all of us!!

Meet Vanilla. He is the latest addition to our home and a constant interruption visitor in our homeschool. There are certain children who suddenly disappear and then reappear holding Vanilla.

Because isn’t he so cute???

{sigh}

If you’re wondering how he could possibly be related to homeschooling, I’ll tell you. Vanilla is a wonderful little carrot to dangle in front of the noses of little children. Incentive never hurts anyone and he is a pretty cute incentive, isn’t he?
