Evidence of Learning ~ Moments to Remember

Photobucket

Moments to Remember was developed as a simple way to look back on our week as homeschoolers and find photos that encompass the memories we want to remember.

The week may have been tough, there may have been more bumps than smiles, but in the end these are the moments that keep us going, the ones we need to remember.

Mystery of History Challenge Cards

This picture just makes me smile!

We’ve been reviewing different facts from our Mystery of History studies, and this week I found a HUGE stash of cards that belonged to the lessons we had already studied {it helps to go through the cards ~ ahem}. Each day we reviewed a portion of the cards from our past 45 lessons to see what the kids remembered and I am AMAZED at what they have retained {and a wee bit relieved to know it is all sinking in!}.

I know he doesn’t look super thrilled in this picture, but Zachary has been working through the first Life of Fred book with me {and really enjoying it}. The reason that I love this picture though is he and I have spent a lot of time sitting in the window this week for his 1:1 time with me {reading, language, and math}, and that little spot is turning out to be just how I envisioned it oh so long ago. :) I love having him snuggle up beside me to read to me or work on schoolwork together.

Something that I am so very thankful for in homeschooling ~ the ability to be flexible. Our week off in school fell during a time that I had to travel. While the kids are at home relaxing with their dad, I am learning and being encouraged by a fun group of ladies.

This week I uploaded pictures to my computer and found a huge batch of ones that were not ones I had taken. The kids {for several days in a row} put together scavenger hunts for each other that took them into the woods and around our house for an hour or so at a time. Laurianna would create clues and then run around and hide them for the others to find ~ and they had SO much fun!

Seeing these pictures just made me smile and also grateful that they had the time to do this together. :) It also cracked me up that they documented each scavenger hunt and the steps along the way.

Moments to Remember ~ Wiggleworm

Moments to Remember was developed as a simple way to look back on our week as homeschoolers and find photos that encompass the memories we want to remember.

The week may have been tough, there may have been more bumps than smiles, but in the end these are the moments that keep us going, the ones we need to remember.

There’s a little boy around these parts who cannot.sit.still. The wiggles overtake him rather frequently and as much as it drives me crazy many time, it just made me laugh the other day.

Because this was the scene when we were learning prepositions. I can think of many prepositions that describe this picture ~ under the desk, up in the air, over his head, behind the easel…

{sigh}

I love this wiggleworm.

Homeschooling in the Car ~ Moments to Remember

Earlier in the week we had to head out the door mid-morning. The kids had done much of their independent work already, but history and our read-alouds were still waiting to be done.

Enter the audiobooks. :) We have the companion audio cd’s for Mystery of History and were able to do our history lesson in the car, and then had MUCH fun listening to a different audiobook for the hour plus that we were driving around.

And I definitely love that flexibility!!
