Preschool Corner ~ What Should Have Been

This was the week that I had planned as our first week back to school. Overall, a fairly lofty goal considering that we returned from vacation on Saturday evening and I had to unpack, etc…

In reality, it was fairly stubborn of me. No reason that I couldn’t hold off and wait another week, other than I had it in my head and got stuck.

Monday morning was literally one of the most miserable days. It was super hot. I had a major migraine and then Kaleb had a 102 temp, so we ended up in the doctor’s office {with no answers}. And then the van broke down.

Sometimes, I’m so stubborn it takes a bit to get something through my thick head.

Later in the week we started back in our school routine, but with a much more laid back attitude and relief when Kaleb was feeling better {and me too}. Meanwhile, I had fun working on a few things behind the scenes for him ~ and to share with you all!!

Stay tuned the next few weeks, because I have some fun things planned to share each Tuesday that I hope you all will love!

When are you planning to start back with your school time {or have you already}?  Leave a comment and let us all know!

  1. I think we have all had days or weeks like that, lol! I am very glad your little one is feeling better though. We won’t be officially starting school this year until October! We are leaving for a field trip of a lifetime at the end of this month. Thank you so much for sharing. I can’t wait to see your school room when it is completed!

  2. The Princess and the Tot says

Praying this week is more uneventful (at least as far as unplanned events)!!

  3. Mon the 22nd we will have our 1st day. I still have a couple more things being delivered before we start =)

  4. We’ve kinda sorta started back.  Slowly easing back in and reminding them of what we do. The kids have been really excited to start back.

  5. We are supposed to start back the day after Labor Day, but I’m not sure I have the will power to wait.  :)

  6. Glad you’re all feeling better!  Being sick in the summer is no fun at all (well, I guess it isn’t fun ever lol).

I’ve found with us it is nicer to maintain the momentum and continue schooling throughout the summer….we were doing every other week in June and July.  But we will probably start doing it weekly from here on out. :)  It works for now….probably not so much when they’re older and aware that they should have a summer break. lol

  7. I’m glad Kaleb is better now, that must have been scary.  I guess it was some short lived virus.

Bummer about the van, I hope it wasn’t too expensive to fix.  Car repairs are so annoying!

  8. anne @ Learningtable says

Sorry your week started out hard.  We “do school” year-round so days like that are a little easier to bear–at least I don’t stress about “getting our days in.”
We are making our official transition up to the next grade Monday.

  9.  We are starting on August 15th and I can’t wait. I hope your second week goes better.

  10. I had big plans for schooling in the summer, but all these activities popped up out of nowhere. Oh well, we plan to start the first week of September.

  11.  Well, Big plans are there for me for schooling this time, going to start school in next month  (September).

  12. Not sure what is wrong with my computer, but this is the second blog that I visited that the linky list is not showing up for me.  Here is the link to my post for our letter J week

We sort of continued our alphabet lessons through the summer so we could finish the alphabet. I am hoping to start our new year and new curriculum the first week of September. we are starting Five in a Row.
    Glad you are feeling better.
