Preschool Corner ~ Vacation Time

This week the girls spent the week at camp, so the boys had us to themselves. There was a whole lotta swimming, playing catch and bike riding. Kaleb was so excited that he could ride around the entire neighborhood, starting his bike by himself. :)

One of the big thrills the kids have every year we visit Rick’s parents is getting ‘squeaky cheese’ {cheese curd} while visiting the giant cow. And taking a picture of the cow every.single.year.

Overall a quiet and relaxing vacation ~ the calm before the busyness of school starts back up for us soon!

  1. I am glad you guys are having a relaxing vacation!

  2. Sounds like a fun time!!! Love the giant cow!

  3. I think it is great that you take a picture of the boys with the cow each year. It would be a great picture book to show them how they are growing. :)

Oh my goodness, I have been following your blog for just a few weeks and have loved every post!  But tonight I did some digging and found your bible section and all the things you have for AWANA!!  I’m beyond thrilled.  I have 3 kiddos, 1 has severe special needs (can’t talk, walk or use her hands) yet she is smart – the school system had a hard time accepting that so we just decided to home school, we know its the right decision but are terrified!!!  Your blog and blogs like yours are so reassuring and helpful!  But this Awana thing is just a pure blessing!  You see, it’s difficult enough to home school but when you have a child like mine its a very big struggle to get her involved with outside activities if she’s not in school, Awana is her absolute favorite place to be and I have been struggling with how to help her with her bible verses and this is just thing we needed.  You are a blessing, thanks for listening to my story and for all of your resources!  :)

  6. I discovered Your New blog in delicious today as well as okay liked this..

Preschool Corner ~ Vacation Time!!

This week we were minus two kids since both girls went to camp for the week…leaving us with only two boys to keep occupied.

We went swimming. A lot. We played. A lot. Rode bikes. Took walks. Built with legos {because Grandma has oh.so.many legos…and just relaxed.

Here’s just a quick picture look at our week.

We brought along Kaleb’s Strider bike. He is doing amazing balancing and we’re thinking that when we get home he might be ready to try a bike with pedals and ride. He’s about worn the bottoms of his Crocs off this week…but he LOVES his bike!

The zip-line at the park was a big hit ~ and this picture just makes me want to poke his little belly button!

A nearby zoo had a ‘touch and see’ area, so Kaleb had fun playing with a turtle shell and examining it.

He loved the salamanders…{at least I think that’s what they were}.

Kaleb wasn’t quite sure what to think about the turkeys on the loose…

This picture just cracks me up because to his left was a huge cage with a bobcat in it…but he was completely engrossed with the ants crawling around on the sidewalk and oblivious to the animals.
