Here’s a cute polar bear craft to do with your kids from Parenting Chaos. A little bit of shaving cream and a fun book like The Lonesome Polar Bear would be a great book and craft go-together.

Coloring-Snow-with-a-Dropper

Have lots of snow around your place? Get in a little fine motor work by coloring snow with a dropper. Stir the Wonder shares a few fun ideas to go along with this activity.

Snow cream is an activity that we made this week (thanks to all the snow!), but West Word Blog made her Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Eve unit even MORE fun by adding cherries on top. Check out all the other fun ideas she had to go along as well.

This geography landform lesson is FABULOUS!! Be sure to visit Unschool the Teacher for some hands-on ideas to teach younger children about different landforms and help them create their own!

This week has been chocked full of fun at our house as we are back in the full swing of school, and we welcomed a friend’s baby into the world {especially exciting since I was able to be there}. It may or may not be enough to make me want another little one. {grins} I hope your week has been fabulous and can’t wait to see what you all share. Here’s a peek at last week’s link ups.

This penguin is the CUTEST art project, especially when you see how the penguins were made {hint: you say potato, I say potatoe}. Head over to A Family in the Land to see her step-by-step pictures. Love it!

Snowflake Busy Bag

School Time Snippets has a great idea for a snowflake busy bag. This would be a lot of fun to design your own snowflake and work on symmetry as well.

I’m willing to bet that you have a few cans hanging around your home, and this string phone experiment from We Made That would be a great way to recycle some of them.

ABC Snack Recipes

Make your ABC learning even more fun with the ABC Snacks from All About Learning Press. Inside Activities for Young Children – Preschool and Kindergarten Community

Not sure how the weather has been where you all live, but BRRRR!!! It’s been cold, cold, cold in our area! The weather may warm up just a bit, but here are a few activities to keep little hands busy.

Need some fun ideas for sensory bins? Stir the Wonder shares an entire YEAR’s worth of sensory bins. There’s a little something for every child! I love the apple pie bin, jelly bean sensory bin, and the creative fun with pool noodles – be sure to check them out.

Keep the little birds outside happy with some simple pinecone bird feeders from There’s Just One Mommy. They would probably appreciate it with all the snow and ice!

Want to learn about chromatography? {That’s a fancy way of learning how to separate colors}. There’s Just One Mommy shares a simple science activity using coffee filters that will provide fun and some great craft supplies when you are done.

Winter Learning Ideas – Preschool and Kindergarten Community

This past week we spent time in upstate NY playing in the snow – tubing, skating, and freezing our noses off. But it was all much fun! Tomorrow, the 3 year old class in our co-op will be talking about winter and snow. Here are a few reader ideas that you may enjoy to go along with a winter theme.

Criss Cross Applesauce Learning shared a fun snowman game she used with her children to work on number recognition {free printable!!}.

Borax Snowflake

Last year we made these fun Borax snowflakes, and they are something we’re going to make again. All of the kids loved them and it was a great science lesson too!
