20 Best Tips

Our Timeline is Up!!

Last month I mentioned our {ahem} pitiful timeline and my history timeline project and goal. The lonely poster just hanging on the wall, begging for timeline figures. Pitiful to say the least since I HAD all of the necessary components, but it just seemed so overwhelming. Really, the problem was I was being l.a.z.y.

History timeline 1

After reading 21 Days to a More Disciplined Life by Crystal Paine, I figured it was time to cross this one nagging ‘to do’ off my list. Really though, this project escalated into a wee bit more {which is actually a great thing}. Instead of only tackling the wall timeline,  I also worked on our timeline book and put together a few index card sets {from Creation to the Crucifixion so far} for the kids and have two more to work on.

Starting on the wall timeline led to a bit of a rearrangement of our schoolroom wall too – you know, just for fun {grins}. This month I’m planning to finish up the index card sets. Having this crossed off my ‘to-do’ list is rather nice!! Now to study more history and fill up the rest of the timeline!

  1. I LOVE your timeline….my problem is…I don’t have a wall to give up…well, unless I put it in the middle of our front room….maybe that’s an idea….people would see a true historical timeline as soon as they enter our home. Thoughts to ponder….

    • There ar so many different options! I want to share more about the different ways we are using a timlines as well. I have seen sewing boards, books that fold out, index cards, etc…
Will definitely share more links soon!

I love the time line idea!

  3. Jennifer Parkerson says

Love the timeline! I need to do one, as well as a few other things!

  4. Joan Concilio Otto says

YEAH! If you remember, I said we have the same timeline (though we just dry-erase markered on it)… it has been languishing without some recent attention, so we revitalized some of the worn-off text and added a few new things this week as well! Thanks for the inspiration to do so :)

  5. I may be tired and missing where you say this, but where did you get this timeline? I need to make one terribly. We had one years ago in our old house. We made it out of paper and it went all around our dining room right under the ceiling. But it started to tear and fall down. I threw it away when we moved. I would love something more substantial.
